The Blog Cyclone

Well... I lied.

I did not in fact have my first day of internship on January 4th.  The "Bomb Cyclone" hit.  I woke up to a text from Stephanie informing me that no one was going into work today.   I had my first snow day in a LONG time.

So of course, on my first day in New York, I did what any sensible person would do in such weather conditions and stayed inside the whole day...

heh heh...

no....

IT WAS MY FIRST DAY IN NEW YORK.   I had to do something!  I couldn't just stay inside watching Netflix all day! So....

Julianne and I went on a journey to Staples.

So we could get an HDMI cable.

So we could just stay inside watch Netflix all day.

unfortunately...

Staples was closed.  Much to the Hardware store we went to instead's surprise.  I think that news might have caused them to close right after we left.

The snow cleared up enough on Friday to let me to get to SKC.  For a nice, fulfilling 1 day of work that week. Huzzah.

Since then I've had seven days of work, gotten sick and lost my voice entirely, got it back, subsisted off of nothing but split pea soup and pickled eggs (that isn't a complaint), and have had several New York firsts. My first visit to the New York Public library (No card yet... I don't have any proof of residence until we get some bills...), my two first chance encounter on the subway, and of course....

MY FIRST SUBWAY RAT!!!

His name is Tucker.  Life is truly miraculous. And, yes, that is a snapchat video.  The ways of the smartphone are slowly unlocking....

That's all for now, I will post another update next week.   Now, I'm off to bed. Well...

When I say bed, I mean air mattress.... My bed still isn't here.  Julianne's bed came on the fifth, so I was able to vacate the couch in the main living space and sleep on an air mattress in my room (hallway).  My bed FRAME is here. It was easy to put to get and, exactly six feet, tucking into one end of my hallway nicely.

So, I am tired.  And I am going to go to air mattress.

Goodnight. Sleep tight.  Don't let the subway rats maul you to pieces.
